We are live!

So what started as a hobby, has now developed into a home run business for me and JoJo, but how did we get here!

Some months back I started training as a DJ predominantly for fun, but it was clear to me that the real buzz of being a DJ comes from the 'performance' and not playing to yourself in your own living room!

We played around initially with online sets (something we still love doing, every Thursday on Mixcloud, me playing while JoJo produces and works on our admin at the same time (and eats snacks and drinks wine!!!!)) but ultimately I craved more.

I've recently been trying to understand whether some of my behaviours are an undiagnosed ADHD brain - indicators are that this is very much the case. Apparently some of the attributes of having an ADHD brain, include impulsivity, emotional dysregulation and a dopamine starved brain that craves stimulation and validation - so this DJ business was only going to go one way really!

And here we are - two months after setting up our company A&J Events and Promotions Limited, with so much interest in the Ludzy brand it has been hard to keep up, whilst also maintaining our well paid day jobs (thank goodness for that as DJ'aying isn't going to pay the rent! At least not yet!)

In all seriousness, this little project isn't driven by money, we're lucky enough to be comfortable and happy in life, so this is about having some fun and expressing our love for music (and paying for all the expensive kit I've bought!!!!)

That means we are in the luxurious position of being able to do what we want to do, play where we want to play, play what we want to play - and really tune into our brand and what ultimately makes us happy.

That happy is probably a slightly upmarket venue (sorry to be a snob!), with a slightly hipster vibe (yeah man!) and playing our tunes (Nu Disco, House, Dance) but equally we love anything out of the ordinary - a corporate, a morning rave (yes we are actually in active discussions about this), festivals etc.

Also this week JoJo started her own DJ training journey doing a 1 day taster with the brilliant team at Creative DJ Kitchen which will now be followed with her own six week training course in the hope we can add her to the A&J Events and Promotions stable too.

Anyway that feels like a reasonable insight for this month - stay with us and have some fun and remember to spread the Love, the peace and most importantly the music.
